The 1st Year Degree Programme is offered in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University as an alternative pathway into a university degree. Courses are the equivalent of the 1st year of the Anglia Ruskin University degree and are quality assured by the University itself. Upon successful completion of the 1st Year Degree Programme you will transfer into the 2nd year of your selected Anglia Ruskin University Bachelor degree programmes.

Programme Duration

The 1st Year Degree Programme is a two semester programme allowing students to complete this programme plus their Bachelor (Hons) degree in three years.

Entry Dates

The majority of programmes have three (3) intakes per year in September, February and June.

Assessment

Assessment for most modules is continuous consisting of tests, assignments and case study analysis. Most modules have a final two-hour examination.

Programme Structure

Students will undertake four modules, which mirror the curriculum taught at the University, each semester. These modules are often also taught by academic staff from the University. Students gain full credit for the 1st year of their studies at CRIC. In addition to formal contact hours, CRIC provides students with extra support through individual consultation with teachers, tutorials, English language assistance, and self access computer laboratories.

English Language Requirement

Students who do not meet the English language requirement are able to undertake the required amount of English language training to prepare them for successful entry into the 1st Year Degree Programme. The English language training is conducted by Anglia Ruskin University’s English Department which is listed among the Guardian’s ‘Six of the Best’ performing universities for English excellence, ranking third in the Guardian’s subject table behind Oxford and Cambridge.
