The CRIC Pre-Masters Programme has been designed to prepare international students who have not qualified for direct entry to the Anglia Ruskin University’s postgraduate programmes.
Or perhaps you have been in employment and it has been a while since you undertook studies at university level, the Pre-Masters programme may be ideal for you! The one semester (12 weeks) programme allows students direct entry into many Masters Programmes often with no work experience.
The Pre-Masters programme at CRIC provides students with full preparation for a Masters programme. We aim to provide you with the skills in writing, reading, listening and speaking that you need to undertake a Masters Degree programme successfully.
You will also be provided with a solid academic background tailored to the Masters programme you wish to study which will be delivered over three modules.

The Pre-Masters Programme will help you in a number of ways:
• Assist you in making a transition from a non academic environment to a classroom setting, through small class sizes (10 – 15 students) and extra academic support.
• Provide you with the skills you need to succeed in the British education system such as essay writing skills, referencing skills, group work and presentation skills.
• Gives you the academic background which ensures you do not have difficulties when studying classes at a Masters level.
• Provides you with extra welfare support to ensure that you are able to easily fit into a new and exciting way of life in the UK.
Assessment
Assessment for most modules is continuous consisting of tests, assignments and case study analysis. Most modules have a final two-hour examination.
Programme Structure
Students will complete four modules in their programme covering the core academic areas of the Masters degree they wish to study at the University. Upon successful completion it will enable students to have a seamless transition into their Taught Masters degree.
English Language Requirement
Students who do not meet the English language requirement are able to undertake the required amount of English language training to prepare them for successful entry into the Pre-Masters Programme. The English language training is conducted by Anglia Ruskin University’s English Department which is listed among the Guardian’s ‘Six of the best’ performing universities for English excellence, ranking third in the Guardian’s subject table behind Oxford and Cambridge.
