Student ActivitiesIf you are interested in getting involved in sports and societies- CRIC and Anglia Ruskin University is the place to be. There is a wide range of sport and recreation activities open to all CRIC students. ARU has state of-the-art sports facilities that you can use, including pitches, a brand new sports hall and gym. As well as these fantastic facilities the Students Union can put you in contact with a diverse range of sporting clubs. See the list below for just a handful of the sporting clubs on offer:

Badminton, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Hockey, Netball Rugby, American Football, Rowing , Cheerleading, Climbing, Dance , Power Kite, Skydiving, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, Water polo, Ju Jitsu, Wing Tsun, Yoga, Skiing & Snowboarding.

See our club of the month. The Ski & Snowboarding Club (ARUSSC) is now one of the largest and most exciting clubs at the University. The society caters for any level of skill, trips to dry slope lessons are run for beginners and with the indoor ‘snow zone’ at near by Milton Keynes regular trips are made throughout the year. The highlight of the ARUSSC calendar is their annual Skiing/ Snowboarding trip to the Alps in France.

You may also wish to join one of the many special interest societies available to all students such as the African Caribbean Society, Anime (and Manga) Society, Christian Union, Islamic Society, RAG Society, Arts Society, Sikh society, Asian Society, Christian Union, History Society, Student Radio and Wildlife Society.

Getting involved in sports and societies is an excellent way to meet likeminded people and try out new activities in addition to gaining useful experience which looks great on your CV. Being a part of these sports and societies opens up so many more opportunities to you whilst being at University, to travel elsewhere in the UK and even abroad, to compete and meet students from other Universities and most importantly to meet a whole new group of students outside of your course- that will often become your closest friends during your time at University and beyond.
